Springs Beauty and Bounty

My dear little flower beds are calling for my attention, after the weeks of rain the weeds have grown by leaps and bounds. The sunny skies have returned along with some much longed for warmer days. The big challenge is to try to balance time for it all. I have been spending most of my time at the studio creating new paintings in preparation for stocking the galleries with new work and prints.

I have been working on some larger floral paintings that provide bright backgrounds for some new spring birds. The song birds that have returned to our land grace me with their beautiful songs each morning. It is quite inspiring and fills my heart with joy. I have also been busy this past week preparing for the Squam Art Fair, I'll be their next Saturday with plenty of prints, wishbooks, pocket quotes, and original artwork. If you have the chance and are in the area it is an event worth checking out. Last fall was my first time their and I am thrilled to be part of this great evening again.

Lucy's Art Emporium, the local gallery her in Dover, is doing a series of interviews and asked me to be the featured artist this month. Being part of an interview is a great opporutnity for self reflection. It was really a pleasure take part in it. The interview is available here.

I'm thrilled to announce that my artwork is now for sale at Good Juju in Newmarket, NH. They will have some of my newest originals.

And also a variety of my art prints.

Creative Spirit Art Student Show

This Friday from 5-6:30 pm, I'll host the annual annual art exhibit for my students at my studio.

It has been a great year working with this fun group of kids.

They love their classes and have been working really hard to put together this show.

The Gift Of Being a Mother

Being a mom is my greatest creative endeavor! I cherish every minute of it. This past weekend my daughter asked me to do a photo shoot for her. She wanted to exchange photos with her boyfriend to celebrate 1 month of going steady, ahhh young love. Below are my favorite shots. We started out at my studio, as I had left my camera there. Kate had fun playing with my reading glasses.

It was a gorgeous spring day. I took her around to some of my favorite settings in downtown Dover,NH.

She had fun and posed for some silly shots.

Most of her poses showed her more composed side. She had a hard time choosing which picture to frame, this the first one she liked.

But this was the winner, showing her natural joy.

I am such a proud momma of my beautiful girl.

Our children grow so fast, each day is a gift for us to grow and learn with love and nurturing in our hearts. Happy mother's day everyday to all of the mommas, we are so blessed.
